Alternative ways to use curtains in your home!

If we said curtains what would come to mind? Most people would think of them hung over a window or glass door to block light, but after 14 years of experience, we’ve come across plenty of creative ways to incorporate curtains into your interior designs. Don’t limit yourself by only using them for windows as you may be missing out on simple ways to elevate your home and instantly transform a room. We’ve done the hard work and included some of our favourite alternative uses.

Separate rooms

Modern houses usually feature spacious, open plan layouts which are great for entertaining and bringing the family together. Adding curtains in these areas is an ideal way to separate rooms, highlight key areas and increase privacy levels when needed. ‘Curtain walls’ create the perfect balance between maintaining the free-flowing open space, whilst adding the option of an inviting, cosy feel when desired.

Wardrobe doors

Curtains are a brilliant alternative to wardrobe or cupboard doors in any room, from bedrooms to kitchens and bathrooms. Firstly, they can easily hide clutter (or be pulled back to show off what’s inside) and give a sophisticated, highly designed look. Traditional cupboard doors can be clunky and take up a lot of space when opening and closing; however, due to curtains being hung on a simple pull across rail they are the best option when looking to maximise space.

Add texture to your walls

Leading interior designers have named the key trends to focus on for 2022 with texture coming in at the top, alongside curved shapes and nature-inspired decor. An effortless way to make an impact is by using curtains in a similar way to wallpaper by creating an accent wall that adds depth and texture to a space. The curtain can span an entire wall, or even just be placed behind your bed to create a unique headboard.
