Get the most out of your awning – keep yourself cosy and warm in the colder weather!

By Published On: December 2nd, 2021

Your awning isn’t just for the summer months; awnings can help keep the elements at bay and the rain off yourself and your furniture. Just remember to look after it in the harsher weather by giving it a gentle clean, retracting it when it’s not in use.

The temperatures are rising!

Keep yourself warm with an outdoor heater installed under your awning. At Innovation Blinds, we can install a discreet infrared heater that is highly compact and unobtrusive, allowing you to enjoy your outdoor space all year round. You can either use an easily accessible switch or utilise the wireless control from your awning remote. Read more about us installing your heater here:

Light it up!

Brighten your outdoor space with some lights; stringing up some fairy lights or having a spotlight attached to your awning will keep your area feeling cosy and warm. Outdoor lighting is great for having guests over and hosting outdoor parties; it allows you to continue the evening and create a comfortable outdoor space.

Get that fire burning!

Why not get a gas fire pit or outdoor fireplace to keep yourself warm as the evenings begin to cool down. Remember, you should not place a wood fire burning pit undercover as it can produce toxic smoke and, without proper ventilation, can be dangerous. Having a fire, you can huddle around and get cosy, transforming your space and making it much more enjoyable in the colder months. (BUT NOT UNDER YOUR AWNING PLEASE!!!)

Keep it cosy!

Don’t forget to stay cosy with some blankets and coats under your awning. A great way to do this is with outdoor storage or built-in seating to keep everything on hand and easily accessible for when the weather starts to change. Nothing beats getting cosy under a blanket, under an awning, around a warm gas fire pit in the comfort of your own outdoor space.
